The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is a road construction executive force of the Indian government, under the Ministry of Defence, that builds and maintains road networks in India's border areas and strategic neighboring countries. Formed on May 7, 1960, its main goals are to secure India's borders and develop infrastructure in remote regions. The BRO operates in 19 states and three union territories, and has also worked in countries like Afghanistan, Bhutan, and Myanmar.
