The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a government organization in India that recruits candidates for various Group 'B' (non-gazetted) and Group 'C' (non-technical) posts in ministries, departments, and subordinate offices of the Government of India. Established in 1975 as the Subordinate Services Commission, it was renamed the Staff Selection Commission in 1977. The SSC's main functions include developing objective and impartial recruitment processes and providing manpower to government organizations in a timely manner.
