The Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) is a public technical university established in 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. It is a "third generation" IIT, located in Dharwad, Karnataka, and offers undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate (M.Tech, PhD) programs in various engineering and science disciplines. The institute's motto is "Knowledge is one that liberates" and it has a temporary campus at the WALMI campus while its permanent 470-acre campus is being developed.
