The Ministry of External Affairs represents the Government of India on the global stage. It is tasked with framing the country’s foreign policy and diplomatic relations, representing India’s voice beyond the borders. It is headed by the Minister of External Affairs Dr. S Jaishankar, who is assisted by the Minister(s) of State (MoS) for External Affairs. Through its more than 200 diplomatic missions abroad, the Ministry provides various services to Indian citizens abroad. Along with its diplomatic role, it also acts as the cadre-controlling authority for the Indian Foreign Service.
