South Eastern Railway (SER) is one of the 19 railway zones of Indian Railways, with its headquarters in Kolkata. It was created in 1955 from the Bengal Nagpur Railway and is a major artery for India's industrial sector, particularly handling heavy mineral freight traffic in its vast network across West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.
